Omar Thompson is a standup comedian, writer and actor from Harlem, New York. He attended Post University quickly becoming the “funny man” on campus and host of the college talent nights. He became the school appointed opening act for every hired comedian that came to the school. After completing college he returned to New York to pursue his comedy aspirations. Studying improv and writing at the UCB.
He has performed at many comedy clubs: Standup NY, Laugh Factory (LA), Improv (LA, FL), FunnyBone (Va, FL), Gotham CC, Caroline’s as a headliner. Also world renown venues such as The Apollo Theater and Madison Square Garden for NY Aprill Fool Day Comedy Show. Omar has appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, TVone, BX12, BET and MTV.
Omar has written and produced sketches on his youtube channel which has generated over 800,000 views. He has also written for TheBoomBox.com
He’s slated to release 3 web series later this year and record his comedy album in December. Look forward to seeing a lot more of him!
